Marcos Madrigal – piano
Marcos Madrigal was born in Havana, Cuba. He graduated in 2007 with top marks from the Instituto Superior de Arte, under the guidance of the famous pianist Teresita Junco. He follows specialization courses at the University of Music of the Conservatory of Lugano and at the prestigious International Piano Academy “Lago di Como”, where he receives lessons from the masters Andreas Staier, Dimitri Bashkirov, Fou Ts’ong, John Perry, Malcolm Bilson and especially by master William Grant Naboré.
He has performed in concert, also playing as a soloist with orchestra, in many of the main concert halls in the world, such as the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome, the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London, the Auditorium Manuel de Falla of Granada, collaborating with conductors such as Claudio Abbado and Leo Brouwer. He is the winner of numerous international competitions, including the Jaén Prize (Spain), the Ciudad Panama International Piano Competition, the María Clara Cullel International Piano Competition (Costa Rica) and, in 2012, he was awarded the prestigious “Premio International Gold Medal Maison des Artistes”.
