Marco Serino completed his musical studies at the S. Cecilia Conservatory in Rome, obtaining diplomas in violin and chamber music with top marks and honours. He later perfected himself with Gunter Pichler, the Amadeus, Melos, Berg and La Salle Quartets and with Corrado
Roman.
He was the founder of the Bernini Quartet in 1990 and a member of the famous I Musici ensemble and collaborates as a soloist and chamber musician with some of the most famous performers, such as Giuliano Carmignola, Christophe Coin, Wladimir Mendelssohn, Mario Brunello, Giovanni Sollima, Francesco Cera, Bruno Canino, Gerard Caussè, Hector Passarella, Alessandro Carbonare, to name a few.
He performs as a soloist and chamber musician in the most prestigious halls around the world, including the Berlin and Köln Philharmonic, Herkulessaal and Prinzregententheatre in Munich, Musikverein in Vienna, Queen Elizabeth Hall in London, Tchaikowsky Hall in Moscow, Marinsky Theater of St. Petersburg, Suntory Hall of Tokyo, Arts Performance Center of Seoul, National Theater of Beijing, Shanghai Theatre, Mozarteum Salzburg, Rome Auditorium Santa Cecilia, Milan Quartet Society, Venice Biennale.
Worth mentioning are the collaborations with Ennio Morricone, Luis Bacalov,
Matteo D’Amico, Alessandro Sbordoni, Gideon Lewinshon, Steve Reich, Ada Gentile and Pascal Dusapin. He has collaborated as soloist or concertmaster with important orchestras such as the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, the Kammerorchester of Zurich and others.
He has recorded for some prestigious record companies including Decca, Amadeus, Fonè, Tactus.
He is a violin teacher at the Trento Conservatory and has held masterclasses at many North American universities, the Accademia für alte Musik of Brunico, the Arts Academy and for the Accademia Filarmonica Romana.
He plays a violin Niccolò Amati, Cremona 1661.
