Alessandra Ammara – piano
Alessandra Ammara began her concert career thanks to the awards she received in some important international competitions. She has played in the main European halls: Musikverein in Vienna, Festspielhaus in Salzburg, Philharmonie in Berlin, Musikhalle in Hamburg, Sejong Arts Center in Seoul, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, and in China, Hong Kong, United States, Canada, South Africa, Brazil, both as a soloist and with orchestra, with conductors such as Fabio Luisi, Georg Pehklivanian, Roberto Minczuk, Bernard Labadie, Lior Shambadal. She has collaborated with performers such as Rocco Filippini, Anton Kuerti, Alban Gerhardt, the Takacs Quartet, the Sine Nomine Quartet. Since 1999 she has regularly played in a piano duo with her husband Roberto Prosseda, with whom she recorded Mendelssohn’s complete piano four hands and the two Concertos for two pianos and orchestra by Mendelssohn for the Decca label. For the German label Arts she has created various CDs, dedicated to Chopin, Schumann, Scelsi, Ravel. Brilliant Classics has recently published her CD dedicated to the piano music of Roffredo Caetani, the world’s first recording, and the first two CDs of the complete piano works of Debussy. Her repertoire includes all the Etudes, Polonaises, Ballads, Mazurkas and Preludes of Chopin, many monographic programs dedicated to Schumann, Scriabin, Fauré, Debussy, Ravel, Busoni. She has recently dedicated herself to the rediscovery of authors such as Roslavetz, Mijaskovsky and Giacinto Scelsi.
