Chiara Sannicandro – violin
Born in 1997, the Italian-German violinist Chiara Sannicandro is a prize winner in international competitions and a refined chamber musician. Among her most significant achievements are awards at the 27th Brahms Competition, the Hudson Valley String International Competition in New York and the Rahn Musikpreis in Zurich, as well as being the Audience Award Winner at the renowned Joseph Joachim Competition in 2021.
She has performed as a soloist with orchestras such as the NDR Hannover, the Camerata Bern, the Göttinger Symphonieorchester, the Philharmonie Salzburg, and has participated in festivals such as the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, the Davos Festival, the Lockenhaus Festival, the Classiche Forme and the Elba International Music Festival.
Among her partners in the field of chamber music are, among others, Gidon Kremer, Vilde Frang, Antje Weithaas, Jens Peter Maintz, Daniel Müller-Schott.
She studied with Mauricio Fuks and Rainer Schmidt and obtained a diploma in chamber music with his Piano Trio in Günter Pichler’s class at the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofia in Madrid.
She is currently completing a Master’s degree with Antje Weithaas at Hanns Eisler in Berlin.
She plays a Matteo Goffriller violin from 1723, on loan from the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben.
