Mirei Yamada – violin
After graduating in violin at the Toho Gakuen University of Music in Tokyo, she continued studying violin and chamber music under the guidance of the masters G.Guglielmo, F.Ayo, D.Nordio, R.Filippini, A.Ghedin, Trio of Trieste and the Alban Berg Quartet at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, the Accademia Chigiana of Siena (where he obtained the “Monte dei Paschi” Prize and the “Diploma of Honour”), the International School of Chamber Music of Trio di Trieste and the Hochschule fur Musik und Tanz.
With the Avos Quartet she was awarded the Second Prize of the “Premio Vittorio Gui” International Competition and of the “Premio Trio di Trieste” International Competition, also obtaining the “A. Baldovino” Prize for the best performance of a work by J. Brahms and the Public Award “Il Piccolo di Trieste”.
She has performed in important halls such as Parco della Musica (Rome), Teatro La Fenice (Venice), Lingotto (Turin), Sala Gaveau (Paris), Flagey (Brussels), National Theater of Warsaw, Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory, Theater Colon (Buenos Aires), Grand Theater (Shanghai), Tokyo Bunka Kaikan etc. She has recorded for RAI, Azzurra Music, Brilliant Classics and the Japanese record company Nami Records. She has held the role of soloist and concertmaster in various international chamber orchestras. For several years she has collaborated as principals of the Mantua Chamber Orchestra, I Solisti di Pavia, the Leonore Orchestra (Pistoia), Colibrì Ensemble (Pescara) and Tottori Chamber Orchestra (Japan), of which she is founder and first violin.
She is co-founder and teacher of the “Avos Project” International Music School in Rome.
