Quartetto Indaco

Made up of Eleonora Matsuno and Ida Di Vita to violins, Jamiang Saints to the viola and Cosimo Caravans cello the quartet triumphed at the international competition in Osaka in 2023 (gold medal and two additional prizes), a historic event for the Italian quartet scene, and is one of the most interesting and versatile groups of its generation, thus establishing itself on the international scene with great authority, strength and liveliness.
There are many projects that the quartet has developed, first of all the “Moto Contrario” project focused on mental disabilities, sponsored by the European platform MERITA and in collaboration with the Visual Artist Letizia Castellano.
The quartet is also the promoter of the Qu.BE (Quartet Based ensemble) format, together with the Milano Classica orchestra, of which it has been quartet in residence since 2017.
The quartet actively collaborates with important voices in art such as Alexander Lonquich, Alessandro Taverna, Giovanni Bietti, David Krakauer, Mao Fujita, Avi Avital, Julian Bliss, Uri Caine, Claudia Barainsky.
Born in the Italian cradle of the quartet of the Fiesole School of Music thanks to the impulse of Piero Farulli, alongside the academic path with their mentor Oliver Wille (Kuss Quartet), the quartet learned the art with great personalities of the quartet school such as Günter Pichler (Primarius Alban Berg Quartet), Reiner Schmidt (Hagen Quartet) and the great German quartet poet Eberhard Feltz.
The Quartetto Indaco is a Pirastro Artist.
