Cesare Carretta – violin
Cesare Carretta graduated in violin at the Parma Conservatory. Since his youth, he has had a brilliant career, both as a soloist and as a chamber musician, which led him together with the Symphonica d’Italia directed by Maestro Lorin Maazel to the most renowned theatres and concert halls in the world in Vienna, Berlin, Madrid, Tokyo, New York and Buenos Aires. He collaborates, as Concertmaster, with numerous orchestras and chamber groups, including Orchestra dei Pomeriggi Musicali di Milano, Teatro Regio di Parma, Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto, Orchestra Sinfonica di San Marino. Since 1990, he has been first violinist, soloist and arranger of the OFI Orchestra Filarmonica Italiana. He held the role of second violinist at the Verona Arena Foundation for five years. He also carries out an intense activity in the Italian jazz scene. Founder of the “Jazz Acoustic Strings” ensemble, he is Italian Jazz Orchestra Concertmaster. He has collaborated with artists such as E.Rava, S.Bollani, F.Bosso, E.Pierannunzi, C.Zavalloni and P. Magoni. He was the first violin of Franco Battiato’s string quartet. In 2022, he published his project “Le Mezze Stagioni, Vivaldi & Other in Jazz” for the prestigious Japanese label Da Vinci Publishing.
