Aldo Campagnari is a founding member of the Quartetto Prometeo, with which he has won awards at prestigious international competitions and has been invited to perform by leading concert societies worldwide. He has collaborated with artists such as Mario Brunello, Alexander Lonquich, Veronika Hagen, Reiner Schmidt, Michele Campanella, Antony Pay, Enrico Pace, and David Geringas, and has made recordings for RAI Radio 3, ARD (Munich and Saarbrücken), ORF (Austria), and BBC (Belfast).

Campagnari graduated in violin under the guidance of Pierantonio Cazzulani and Armando Burattin. After serving as concertmaster in the Orchestra Giovanile Italiana, performing under conductors such as Riccardo Muti, Carlo Maria Giulini, and Giuseppe Sinopoli, he also collaborated with the Orchestra of the Teatro alla Scala. He later refined his studies with Massimo Quarta in Bologna and at the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana in Lugano.

He served as artistic director of the contemporary music festival “ContemporaneaMente” in Lodi from 2006 to 2009. He is a violinist in Alter Ego Ensemble, a quintet dedicated to contemporary music, collaborating with leading composers of our time. He teaches string quartet at the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana in Lugano and has given masterclasses at the Orlando Festival in the Netherlands, Pacific University in California, and the Conservatory of Trento. In 2012 he won the Silver Lion at the Venice Biennale with the Quartetto Prometeo.

Aldo Campagnari will take part in Trame Sonore 2026 as a member of the Orchestra da Camera di Mantova.
