Alessandro Achilli is a professional journalist specializing in music. He worked for twenty-one years in the editorial staff of the magazine Musica Jazz and previously was among the founders and editors of the magazine Musiche.
He regularly collaborates with Radio Popolare and has hosted several program series for Rai Radio3. He has written liner notes for CDs by Louis Moholo-Moholo, Stormy Six, Franco D’Andrea, Forbici di Manitù, Yugen, and Umberto Fiori & Luciano Margorani.
He has translated into Italian books by Anne Enright, Leonard Cohen, and works on Robert Wyatt, Bob Marley, Jim Morrison, as well as short stories by Isaac Asimov and numerous essays.
He is also a photographer whose work has been published in various Italian and international magazines (including the Leonardo Music Journal of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology) and on CDs by This Heat, Annette Peacock, Stormy Six, Lindsay Cooper, Artchipel Orchestra, Cassiber, Hugh Hopper, and others.
