Anime Specchianti

The theatre company Anime Specchianti was founded in 2016. It made its debut within the Ravenna Festival’s “Giovani artisti per Dante” programme with the production Nova Vita, establishing a strong artistic and personal cohesion that was confirmed the following year in the same festival with a new Dante-related project, Amor ci vinse.

In the following years, the company developed productions of various kinds, all characterised by a close integration of text, music, and dance.

In 2018, in collaboration with psychologist Chiara Pracucci, the production Partita aperta – Il modo più sicuro di ottenere nulla da qualcosa was created, exploring the theme of gambling addiction. In autumn 2019, the group presented the staged reading Samia, guerriera libera, telling the story of Samia Yusuf Omar, an Olympic athlete and one of the many victims of human trafficking in the Mediterranean. The production was also presented at the Teatro Alighieri in Ravenna as part of the 2020 Opera and Ballet Season.

From 2019 to the present, Anime Specchianti has collaborated with the ESC office in Ravenna, creating a campaign to raise awareness of pathological gambling within the community. They also presented the reading Storie di Partite Apertein the prisons of Ravenna and Forlì, alongside Chiara Pracucci and lawyer Giordana Pasini.

The company has frequently collaborated with artists and institutions such as Ravenna Teatro, actors Davide Paciolla, Noemi Sferlazza, and Paola Baldini, and percussionist Diego Occhiali. In 2023, they began a collaboration with harpsichordist Valeria Montanari and viola da gamba player Rosita Ippolito, leading to the creation of the concert-performance Barbara, Virtuosissima Cantatrice, dedicated to Barbara Strozzi, presented in the 2023 season of Ferrara Musica and at the 2025 Monteverdi Festival in Cremona.
