David Mancini was born in Rieti and began his musical studies with M° Giovanni Auletta at the Conservatorio “S. Cecilia” in Rome. He later graduated with highest marks and honours under the guidance of Mariangela Vacatello at the I.S.S.M. “G. Briccialdi” in Terni.

He is currently enrolled in a postgraduate programme at the Conservatorio “F. Morlacchi” in Perugia in the class of M° Vacatello, while also attending the annual course held by Benedetto Lupo at the Accademia di Musica di Pinerolo. Important formative influences include encounters with M° Pierpaolo Maurizzi, with whom he studied chamber music at the Conservatorio “A. Boito” in Parma, and M° Pasquale Lucia, with whom he deepened his studies in composition.

He has won first prize in several national and international piano competitions, including the XIV “Lia Tortora” International Competition, the “Giulio Rospigliosi” National Competition, the V “Premio Clivis” International Competition in Rome (absolute first prize), the XI “Città di Tarquinia” International Competition (absolute first prize), the “docmusicontest” in Rieti, and the VI “Marco Dall’Aquila” National Competition.

In June 2019 he performed Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 3, Op. 37 as a soloist with the Filarmonica “A. Toscanini” of Parma. In May 2016 he gave a recital in the “Pietro da Cortona” Hall of the Capitoline Museums in Rome as part of the “Suonaroma” concert series.

His concert activity has brought him to perform for major institutions and associations including the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome, Filarmonica Umbra in Terni, Reate Festival in Rieti, the Conservatorio “S. Cecilia” in Rome, the Conservatorio “A. Boito” in Parma, the I.S.S.M. “Briccialdi” in Terni, and the XVII Santa Fiora in Musica Festival.

He has participated in masterclasses with Boris Berman at the Polish Academy in Rome, Riccardo Risaliti, Roberto Prosseda, and Pietro De Maria.

David participates in Trame Sonore 2026 as a member of the René Piano Trio.
