Graduated in Early Keyboard Instruments with top marks and honours from the Conservatories of La Spezia, Florence, and Vienna, he further refined his skills with Enrico Gatti, Richard Egarr, Bob van Asperen, Andrea Marcon, and Christophe Rousset. He was awarded scholarships at the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague (Netherlands) to study with Ton Koopman, at the Scuola Civica di Milano, and at the Fondazione Cini in Venice.

He has performed as a soloist and continuo player with the Mozarteum Orchestra of Salzburg, the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino Orchestra, Le Parlement de Musique, La Pifarescha, Modo Antiquo conducted by Federico Maria Sardelli, Auser Musici (with Roberta Invernizzi and Sonia Prina), the Weimarer Akademie Orchestra conducted by Helmuth Rilling, the Orchestra Regionale della Toscana, and the Camerata Strumentale di Prato. He has appeared at major festivals in Italy (Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Ravenna Festival, FloReMus, Concerti al Quirinale, Anima Mundi, Accademia Chigiana, theatres in Ferrara and Cremona) and across Europe (France, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, the Netherlands), while also working as a teacher of Baroque and Medieval music.

As a conductor, he made his debut with Il trionfo dell’Onore by A. Scarlatti with the Baroque Ensemble of the La Spezia Conservatory. He has appeared as guest conductor with the Marche Baroque Orchestra and, in 2023, conducted L’Orfeoby C. Monteverdi for the Cantiere Internazionale d’Arte di Montepulciano (Siena).

Since 2021 he has been répétiteur at the Conservatories of Milan and Cesena, and accompanist for the Centre de Musique Baroque de Versailles courses at the Istituto Lulli in Florence and for the Renata Tebaldi International Competition in San Marino. Since 2024 he has also collaborated with Florida Atlantic University in Miami (USA).

A dedicatee of new works, finalist and prizewinner of several international competitions, he has recorded CDs for Glossa, Brilliant Classics, Bongiovanni, Da Vinci Classics, and Classic Voice Antiqua, and has appeared on Rai 5, Rai Radio 3, as well as Swiss, German, and Australian radio.

Dimitri will take part in Trame Sonore 2026 as a member of Cappella Semifonti.
