Gloria Santarelli, born in Rieti in 1998, graduated with highest marks and honours from the Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia (decentralised site in her hometown) under the guidance of M° Giuseppe Crosta. Previously a student in the Advanced Specialisation course at the Accademia di Imola “Incontri col Maestro” with M° O. Semchuk and M° K. Milas, she is now continuing her training with the same teachers at the Accademia Filarmonica di Bologna and the Accademia Musicale di Firenze. She also attends an annual advanced violin course with David Romano at Avos Project.
In 2018 she founded the Duo Wendel, performing at the Trapani Summer Festival, Palazzo dei Pio in Carpi, Villa Leopardi in Rome, and the Municipal Library of Terni. With this ensemble she studied under M° A. Pepicelli and joined Avos Project, earning a first-level Master’s degree in Theory and Practice of Chamber Music at Roma Tre University. In 2021 she founded the Trio David, with which she attended chamber music courses for strings at the Accademia di Imola under M° A. Farulli and at Avos Project with the Quartetto Prometeo. With this trio she performed at the Accademia Gallery in Florence, the Circolo dei Canottieri Tevere-Remo and the Vicariate Courtyard in Rome, the Portogruaro International Music Festival, and the Imola Summer Music Academy and Festival.
She has participated in numerous national and international competitions, achieving first prizes at the “Dinu Lipatti International Competition”, “Premio Enrico Barattelli”, “Premio Città di Ocre”, and “European Music Competition”; second prizes at the “Concorso Leopoldo Mugnone” and “Narnia Arts Academy International Competition”; and third prizes at the “Concorso Riviera Etrusca” and “Dinu Lipatti 2018”. In 2022 she received a special prize for the best performance of Bach at the “Massimo Marin” competition, where she was also given the opportunity to play the Guadagnini violin once owned by the maestro. In 2012 she received a scholarship for musical and academic merit from the Rotary Club. In 2016 she won, by jury and audience vote, a solo violin concert at the Ars Medica Auditorium in Rome, awarded by AGIMUS. In 2019 she was selected for the World Youth Orchestra under M° Damiano Giuranna, performing in Beirut, Sarajevo, and Mostar. In the same year she participated in the Lugo Music Festival as a soloist, performing works by Piazzolla and Paganini. Within Avos Project she was selected to perform chamber music with artists such as Mario Montore, Mirei Yamada, Alessio Pianelli, Francesco Dillon, Massimo Spada, David Romano, and Luca Sanzò.
She has attended masterclasses with M° M. Fiorini, Pierre Amoyal, K. Jeung, M. Yamada, C.M. Parazzoli, Ilya Grubert, and chamber music courses with Trio Debussy, Carlo Fabiano, and Marco Zuccarini. She plays an Evasio Emilio Guerra violin from Turin, dated 1925.
Gloria participates in Trame Sonore 2026 as a member of the René Piano Trio.
