In 2016, she earned a PhD by rediscovering a pedal technique used exclusively in single-action harp models, also known as the Harpe Organisée, and has received numerous awards as a soloist in national and international competitions.
She has performed in concert and recorded CDs throughout Europe, the United States, Australia, and Japan, both as a soloist and in chamber music projects, regularly appearing with Davide Monti in Duo Arparla, the violin-and-harp ensemble specializing in seventeenth- to nineteenth-century repertoire.
A teacher of Historical Harps in Verona, Vicenza, and Geneva, she has led seminars and masterclasses at prestigious institutions such as Juilliard School in New York, Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, as well as at universities and music academies in Geneva, Helsinki, Kraków, Kampala, Melbourne, Sydney, and Singapore.
Maria is renowned for her versatility and her ability to interpret works from different stylistic periods with authenticity.
