The Trio Synchordia was founded in 2017 from the desire of its members to explore and deepen—on the occasion of the centenary celebrations of Claude Debussy the following year—the chamber masterpiece repertoire of the French composer, and in parallel the broader repertoire written for this fascinating and refined ensemble.
The group’s passion for the intersection of the arts has also led them to collaborate with dancers and actors in performances that combine music and dance, music and poetry, and music and theatre, featuring in some of Italy’s most important concert and theatre seasons (including MantovaMusica, Lucca Classica, Festival della Piana del Cavaliere, Teatro Menotti in Milan, MadamaDoRe by Oficina OCM, Unione Musicale, Fondazione Pergolesi Spontini, and the Filarmonica Association of Rovereto).
Notable among these projects are “4 mai, mon cher”, created for the Lucca Classica Festival 2019 in collaboration with Amanda Sandrelli and Marco Brinzi, and “Children’s Corner – L’angolo di… Gianni Rodari”, in collaboration with Michele Pirani, performed in various Italian theatres since spring 2022 with both public and critical success.
Alongside their work on the original repertoire for flute, viola, and harp, Trio Synchordia also pursues a broad exploration of transcription and contemporary music. In 2021 the trio performed at the Ticino Musica Festival in a concert dedicated to the composer Sofia Gubaidulina. In 2022 they premiered Green Trio by Andrea Portera, and in 2023 they gave the world premiere of Au réveil by Alessandro Solbiati. In 2025 they are scheduled to record their first CD for the Ema Vinci Records label.
