At the heart of the Church of Santa Maria della Vittoria, one of the new venues hosting Trame Sonore, the music of the world comes to life. Reflecting the spirit of the Trama Crossroads series, this concert invites the audience on a journey through places and cultures that are as diverse as they are deeply connected.
Western classical instruments engage in dialogue with traditional ethnic instruments such as the Indian flute and tablas; the voice crosses borders and frontiers, creating a musical narrative that embraces continents and traditions alike. The project aims to bring together sounds and rhythms that represent the identities of the world into a single “human identity,” offering the audience not only a musical journey, but also the wonder of unity among peoples — a message especially meaningful in the present historical moment.
Irish melodies and Sephardic songs, polyrhythms and Northern European atmospheres intertwine in a journey free from linguistic and geographical boundaries. Behind every note lies an ancient question: what unites us beyond everything that divides us? At a time that urgently calls for new forms of listening and encounter, this concert offers something rare and deeply necessary: the possibility of believing, if only for the duration of the music, that the world can become one.
