The Conservatorio di musica “Lucio Campiani” is located in the heart of Mantua, housed in an elegant historic building just a short walk from the city’s main monuments, within an urban context rich in art, history, and culture.
Its origins date back to the late eighteenth century, when, under the influence of Maria Theresa of Austria, the first public School of Music was established. Over the following centuries, the city’s musical education system gradually took shape, first becoming a Municipal School of Music, then a Musical Institute, and finally, in 1972, receiving recognition as a state conservatory.
Today, the Conservatory stands as a key cultural reference point, fully integrated into the urban fabric, where deep-rooted tradition meets vibrant contemporary artistic activity. The atmosphere is evocative and intimate: classrooms and musical spaces intertwine with fine architectural features, creating an ideal environment for study and artistic creation.
This place offers a unique balance of acoustic quality, architectural beauty, and immersion in Italy’s artistic tradition.
