The palace was built in the early eighteenth century by the Platis family (later Plattis and then Platti), originally from Old Castile, who arrived in Mantua in the mid-seventeenth century, during the period of Spanish predominance. The Platis lived in Mantua more nobilium and entered into marriages with noble families from Mantua and Venice.
Among others, Felice Gaetano was appointed archdeacon of Mantua Cathedral by Emperor Charles VI in 1739. Giovanni Antonio served as general treasurer of the Duchy of Mantua, with the rank of royal treasurer, by appointment of Empress Maria Theresa in 1751, as did his son Anton Maria. Another Anton Maria, son of Giovanni and Giulia Manfrin, inherited the title of marquis from his mother in 1862; he was a fervent patriot and, after Italian unification, was awarded the Order of Saints Maurice and Lazarus in 1866.
Subsequently, the palace was sold by the Platis family to the Bulgarini family and later to the Siliprandi family.
