Hanno Müller-Brachmann, German baritone, is active internationally as a performer of Lieder, concert repertoire, and opera, collaborating with some of the most prominent musical figures of our time, including Simon Rattle, Bernard Haitink, Herbert Blomstedt, Iván Fischer, Andris Nelsons, and Zubin Mehta. Among the pianists with whom he regularly works are Malcolm Martineau, Philippe Jordan, and Daniel Barenboim.

At the age of 27 he joined the ensemble of the Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin under the direction of Daniel Barenboim. Since then, he has appeared at leading European opera houses, including Munich, Vienna, Hamburg, and Teatro alla Scala in Milan, as well as at major international festivals such as the Salzburg Festival and the BBC Proms, performing with top orchestras across Europe, America, and Asia.

He studied in Freiburg with Ingeborg Most and in Mannheim with Rudolf Piernay, and further refined his training in the Lied class of Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau in Berlin. The beginning of his career was marked by important distinctions, including prizes at the ARD International Music Competition in Munich and the “Neue Stimmen” competition in Gütersloh.

Alongside his artistic activity, he maintains an active teaching career: after appointments at the Universität der Künste in Berlin and the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler, he has been professor at the Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe since 2011. He also serves on international competition juries and is actively engaged in music education.
