"To enter, to begin and to blossom" are the three meanings of the Latin word Ineo, chosen by the quartet for its name.
Since their formation, the Ineo Quartet has been performing throughout Austria, appearing in Wiener Musikverein, Arnold Schönberg Center, Beethoven Museum, at several festivals in Austria, like "St. Gallen Festival", "Beethoven Frühling" Festival and "Styrian Chamber Music Festival", during concert series "ECMS" in Vienna, Landeskonzerte in Linz, "Frauenstimmen" in Salzburg, "Musikfreunde Feldkirch" in Vorarlberg, among others. Internationally, the Ineo Quartet appeared at Festivals such as "Sion Festival" (Switzerland), Instrumental residency at "Festival d’Aix-en-Provence", "Musical meetings in Seine-et-Marne" in Melun (France), Festival "Vecna nadeje" in Prague (Czech Republic) and "Trame Sonore" in Mantova (Italy). They also performed a recital at Piano Salon Christophori in Berlin and were invited for a concert tour in Alsace.
In 2025 the Ineo Quartet was awarded a special prize at the Filippo Nicosia International Award. The quartet is a member of the Chamber Music Associations Le Dimore del Quartetto, ECMA and ProQuartet. In 2024 they recorded a CD, which includes the third string quartet by Austrian contemporary composer Richard Dünser, dedicated to them.
Originally founded in 2022 at the University of Music and performing arts Vienna under the guidance of Prof. Johannes Meissl, the Ineo Quartet is currently a resident ensemble at the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía Madrid with Prof. Günter Pichler (Alban Berg Quartet). They were also inspired by musicians like Alfred Brendel, Quatuor Diotima, Tim Frederiksen, Francois Kieffer (Quatuor Modigliani).
The Ineo Quartet has a long and exciting history, going back to 2017. Both violinists of the quartet were founding members of Selini quartet, which, after five successful years, dissolved in the year 2022. The violinists, however, decided to continue playing the quartet and could present the re-founded group under the name "INEO" with 2 new members. The years as Selini Quartet brought them many prizes at international competitions, such as "Prague Spring International Music Competition", "Ysaye International Music Competition", "Szymanowski International Music Competition" and appearances at festivals, such as Salzburger Festspiele and Grafenegg Festival in Austria, Gent Festival van Vlaanderen in Belgium, Ickinger Frühling in Germany, Nafplion Festival in Greece, at the Festspillene Helgeland in Norway and more.
