Named a “Rising Star” by Classic FM for 2025, Jaren Ziegler won the final of the 2022 BBC Young Musician Strings competition at the age of 16, becoming the first violist in the competition’s history to achieve this milestone.
Since then, he has performed as a soloist with the BBC Philharmonic, the London Mozart Players, the RCMJD Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Orchestral Society, the Opera North Youth Orchestra, the Schubert Ensemble, the Stamford Chamber Orchestra, the Bishop Stortford Sinfonia, the Albion Orchestra, the Purcell School Orchestra, the London International Concert Orchestra at the Last Night of the Proms, St Judes, and has toured with the Northern Chamber Orchestra. Upcoming concert engagements include a performance of Bartók's Viola Concerto with the Bristol Symphony Orchestra.
Jaren has had the opportunity to perform alongside artists such as the Heath Quartet, Marc Bouchkov, Sini Simonen, James Baillieu, Ben Goldscheider, Elena Urioste, Radek Baborák, Ryan Wigglesworth, Mark Wigglesworth, Adrien Brendel, and Will Duerden. He has participated in the Verbier Festival Academy Soloist Program and the Kronberg Academy Festival Masterclasses, where he was chosen by Tabea Zimmermann to perform in the "Entdeckungen-Konzert." He is a member of the international string ensemble LGT Young Soloists and has performed at the Wigmore Hall, the Brahms-Saal Musikverein, the Victoria Hall in Singapore, the Royal Festival Hall, the Philharmonie Luxembourg, and the Snape Maltings Concert Hall.
Currently in his second year at the Royal Academy of Music, Jaren studies viola with Hélène Clément. He has also participated in masterclasses with Tabea Zimmermann, Antoine Tamestit, Nobuko Imai, Lawrence Power, Timothy Ridout, and Amihai Grosz.
