Connected as he has always been to art, music, and dance, born in 2000, Marco began his professional musical career with Maestro Salvatore Vella at the Conservatorio “Vincenzo Bellini” in Caltanissetta, where he obtained a first-level academic diploma with top marks. He later moved to France, to Strasbourg, where he studied with Maestro Mario Caroli at the Conservatoire de Strasbourg. He is currently based in Germany, at the prestigious Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen, where he continues his studies in the class of Anne-Catherine Heinzmann.
Marco’s passion has led him to explore both chamber music and orchestral performance, and over the years he has collaborated with major orchestras, including the Gürzenich Orchestra of Cologne, as well as several youth orchestras such as Jpon, Kammerphilharmonie Melodia, OU Strasbourg, and Crescendo Freiburg. He has participated in important festivals (including Hundisburg Schloss, Saluzzo, and the Berlin Opera Academy) and has had the honor of performing under renowned conductors such as Friedrich Praetorius, Felix Mildenberger, and Gábor Hontvári.
He has taken part in numerous competitions, receiving several awards: second prize at the International Angelo Faja Competition, first prize at the International “Città di Baronissi” Competition, and first prize at the National Benedetto Albanese Competition. He also reached the semifinal and final stages in competitions such as the Dutch International Competition, the Severino Gazzelloni International Competition, and the Angelo Persichilli Competition.
Marco places no limits on his artistic vision and embraces a very wide repertoire ranging from Baroque and Classical music to contemporary works. His sole aim is to build an intimate connection with his audience, capable of moving and communicating as deeply as possible.
