The violist Nora Romanoff-Schwarzberg has performed both as a soloist and chamber musician in prestigious venues and festivals such as the Wiener Musikverein, the Vienna Konzerthaus, Salle Pleyel in Paris, DeSingel in Antwerp, Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, the Martha Argerich Project in Lugano, and the Salzburg Festival, among many others.
As a soloist, she has appeared with orchestras including the Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana, the Zagreb Chamber Orchestra, the Bacău Philharmonic Orchestra, the Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra, the Irkutsk Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Camerata Bariloche, under conductors such as Ion Marin, Alexander Vedernikov, Hobart Earle, Pierre Amoyal, and Jacek Kaspszyk.
Her chamber music partners include outstanding musicians such as Mischa Maisky, Gabriela Montero, Renaud Capuçon, Andrey Baranov, Lilya Zilberstein, Lily Maisky, Sergei Nakariakov, Henning Kraggerud, Enrico Dindo, Martha Argerich, and Ivry Gitlis.
Since 2013 she has been a member of the LUX Ensemble, dedicated to contemporary string quartet repertoire. As a member of the Lipkind Quartet, she has toured throughout Europe and the United States and recorded two CDs.
She has given masterclasses in Israel, Norway, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the United States, and taught viola and chamber music at the AMADEUS School in Vienna between 2014 and 2018. She currently teaches at the AMP – International Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna.
