QuartettOCMantova

The String Quartet of the Orchestra da Camera di Mantova — the QuartettOCMantova — was founded in 2006 from the collaboration of some of its principal players and was conceived and strongly supported by artistic director Carlo Fabiano.

From its earliest performances, the quartet has consistently received acclaim and recognition. Appearances at the Mantua Literature Festival (Festivaletteratura) and numerous invitations from concert associations have also brought the ensemble into events celebrating the bicentenaries of Haydn, Mendelssohn, and Schumann.

The QuartettOCMantova is frequently featured in the Tempo d’Orchestra season and is regularly invited to many concert series, more recently including the Valnerina Festival, Amici della Musica di Montegranaro, the Philharmonic Societies of Rovereto and Trento. The quartet has collaborated extensively with other musicians, including Paolo Bordoni, Stefania Redaelli, and Igor Armani.

Together with musicologist Giovanni Bietti, the quartet has developed ongoing collaborations in the form of lecture-concerts and guided listening sessions. Among their upcoming engagements is the recording of Brahms’ Second String Quartet for RAI 5.
