Thomas Busch, born in Germany, studied at the "Robert-Schumann-Hochschule" in Düsseldorf where he graduated in organ and choir conducting and later at the "Folkwang-Hochschule" in Essen, where he graduated in singing. He then perfected his skills under Kurt Equiluz, Elio Battaglia, Andreas Schmidt, Charles Spencer and Irvin Gage. 

He won the second prize at the Angelica Catalani International Opera Competition in the Vocal Chamber Music section and won a scholarship at the International Workshop of Vocal Chamber Music in Conegliano. 

Active as a chamber music and oratorio singer, he has performed the great oratorios of Bach, as well as the great romantic oratorios of Mendelssohn and Brahms and music by modern and contemporary authors in numerous concerts in Italy and Germany. His vast lieder repertoire includes the most important cycles of composers such as Schumann and Schubert, but also authors such as Poulenc and Vaughan Williams, Ives and Barber. He has taken part in opera productions in the theatres of Aachen, Düsseldorf and Duisburg. In Italy, he has sung, among others, for Macerata Opera-Arena Sferisterio and for the Baroque Festival of Viterbo. 

He has recorded the Messa Romana by Giovanni Battista Pergolesi for the Pergolesi Foundation in Jesi, a CD featuring pieces for voice and guitar by the composer Gabriello Melia, an album with lieder by the romantic composer Friedrich Lux and a CD with compositions for voice and saxophone by the contemporary composer Andreas Bär. 

He has held master classes in Costa Rica, Spain, Turkey, Romania, Georgia and Italy.
