Piano Quintet for piano and strings in A major, Op. 114, D. 667, “The Trout”
50’ | Ticket 15 €
Framed by the extraordinary beauty of the Galleria degli Specchi, this concert celebrates the genius of Franz Schubert through one of his most radiant works: the Piano Quintet in A major, D. 667, universally known as “The Trout”.
Composed in 1819 during a stay in the Austrian mountains, the work radiates a spring-like freshness, culminating in the famous variations of the fourth movement, which mirror the shimmering motion of the eponymous Schubert Lied.
Bringing this masterpiece to life is an ensemble of outstanding prestige: the expressivity of Alexander Lonquich leads an exceptional chamber dialogue, intertwining with the violin of Alexandra Soumm, the viola of Edoardo Rosadini, and the cello of Enrico Bronzi, supported by the deep sonority of Paolo Borsarelli’s double bass. Together, these performers restore the light and carefree spirit of a piece that remains an ode to joy and to nature itself.
